Wale is back in the studio cooking up some heat and he teased fans this week by sharing some new music. Everyone has tried their hand at covering SZA’s platinum-selling single “The Weekend” and now we finally got a proper remix with a male perspective.
Wale shared his version of the song yesterday morning and of course he had to add his “poerty-esque” flair to the track before getting into the song. “Now, would you rather be the dry non-passionate, half-with-it damn near abstinent primary chick/
Or the one I laugh with and casually kiss on the kitty-cat and watch Glow, Black Mirrors and break your back, and let me bask in the aftermath of your black girl magic.”
After his poem, he spits his rhymes over the calm instrumental as he addresses cheating, monogamy, and more while delving into his weekly routine.
Now last year, Wale came out with his “SHINE” album filled with tracks that blew everyone away. With his blacked out avi on his social media profiles, it’s safe to say he’s locked his-self back in the studio and may be working on a new project. Even after their small spat following J. Cole’s “False Prophets” track that seemed to take shots at the D.C. rapper, the two of them were seen in the studio “working on new vibes.”
They’ve come together on a track or two before and their collaborations always turn out great. I know fans can’t wait to hear what they’ve been working on.
In the meantime, check out Wale’s “The Weekend (Remix)” below.
