Virginia knocks off Texas Tech to win 2019 National Championship

The Virginia Cavaliers defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders 85-77 in overtime to win the 2019 National Championship. The game went back and for till Virginia pulled away in overtime to win their first ever National Championship.

It was a redemption story for Virginia, after getting upset last year and becoming the first #1 seed to lose to a #16 seed (UMBC). Kyle Guy was named the tournament’s most outstanding player after scoring 24 points in the title game and his winning free throws in the semifinal.
