After releasing a multiple independent records and projects, Tyga has inked a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Records in hopes of extending his global reach, Variety reports.
“They definitely understand the global brand,” Tyga explained. “I have a lot of fans worldwide… They can help bring that to a larger scale. Doing it independently, you don’t really have those teams to help worldwide. Sony, if you look at the history from what they’ve done from Pharrell to Beyonce to Adele… they’ve done a lot for artists globally, for their brand.”
Earlier this year, Tyga released his comeback album Legendary, which featured appearances from the likes of Gunna, Lil Wayne, Offset, and Chris Brown. He’s recently teased that new music is on the way.
“I’m always creating. Sometimes I want to make an album or a song out, or a joint album with somebody.”
Now that he has a deal with a major label we should be seeing a lot more from Tyga soon. Are you looking forward to new music from Tyga?
