With the loss of so many young rappers, It’s been quite a somber summer so far. Smoke had such a bright and promising future until he was gunned down outside of a Toronto club last Saturday night. Two people were taken to the hospital for their injuries, but the third victim identified as the 21 year old rapper did not make it.
Dawg opened for Drake’s Boy Meets World tour in 2016 and was creating his own buzz in Toronto. Drake posted to his Instagram sending his condolences and expressing his devastation. “All these gifts and blessed souls and inner lights being extinguished lately is devastating. I wish peace would wash over our city. So much talent and so many stories we never get to see play out. Rest up smoke.”
Smoke leaves behind his parents, 13 siblings, and a 1 year old daughter. R.I.P. Smoke.
