Honey: Rise Up and Dance takes the artist’s skills to whole other level. The movie is coming out April 3, 2018–and we can’t wait to see it.
Teyana Taylor will be accompanied of Bryshere Y. Gray (who plays Hakeem on the show Empire). The movie follows a young girl played by Taylor who strives to get a full scholarship to the college of her dreams through a dance competition. Directed by Bille Woodruff, the movie is bound to be a good one. Woodruff tells Essence, “I always have such a great and uplifting experience directing the films from my Honey franchise and working with Teyana Taylor in her first leading role was magical,” adding, “It’s so inspiring to me when I travel the world and find how much these dance movies mean to people everywhere and the feeling of hope and overcoming obstacles they present especially to challenged youth.”
