RAJA is a newcomer to the scene but, came onto the scene rapidly and is gaining new fans daily – including myself. Back in August, I spoke with Raja and we talked about so many topics such as depression.

It was amazing to connect with someone else in the music industry who was open to talking about depression, something we both battled with. Instead of letting depression take him down he focused on writing music and kept striving to produce a debut project for his fans that they’ll always love. Raja’s debut project REBIRTH has hints of his Indian culture in each song, mixed with Caribbean, Pop and Hip-Hop vibes; making the project relatable to many. On the intro, Raja discusses troubles that he’s had and how he channeled them. His single “Island Gyal” follows the intro, which features Tory Lanez, which was a great transition.

While listening to Raja’s album I was trying to see who he reminds me of but, his sound is very distinct and definitely is his own wave. His sound isn’t too Pop, not too Hip-Hop…I’m going to just call this RAJA vibes. My favorite track is “Tissue Box,” and I love it because hearing men talk about their feelings is something I love. Most male artists think it’s “soft” to express yourself on a track but, fellas women LOVE that!

Listen to “Rebirth” below and let us know what you think!

Anyways, Raja has been working non-stop since the release of hit single “Island Gyal.” He currently has a show coming up with Funk Flex and we know this is going to be major!
