After having an amazing year thus far with the release of his countless hit singles and debut album “American Teen,” Khalid drops his latest visual for his song “Saved.” The heartbroken track is brought to life with a sorrowful visual that focuses on the reminiscence of a past relationship that Khalid never let go.
The video starts off with a tone of denial, as Khalid calls his ex on the phone, only to end up hearing the answer machine. The rest of the video displays alternating clips. While some clips include Khalid isolated and staring into the open space at beaches and penthouses, other clips reveal past memories with Khalid and his ex laughing together and ultimately displaying their affection for one another.
The chorus of the song, “But I’ll keep your number saved, cause I hope one day you’ll get the sense to call me/I’m hoping that you’ll say you’re missing me the way I’m missing you,” offers a somber ending, as Khalid looks at his phone waiting on a call back from his ex before he tries to call again.
Khalid is set to pick off his “Roxy Tour” next month in New York City at Radio City Music Hall and is also nominated for five Grammy Awards, including the prestigious category of Best New Artist.
