Nearly eight years since the release of their last album and a year after dropping their single “Where is the Love?,” this supergroup returns with a new track.

Will. i. am’s group, The Black Eyed Peas, started their new year off tackling an issue we’ve been grappling with in our nation for awhile now – police brutality. Their new track called “Street Livin'” is a politically charged song that focuses on the prison -industrial complex and criminal justice system.

Over their signature boom-bap sound, the group delivers a socially-conscious record while they rap about the wars on drugs and mass incarceration. “Street livin’, caught in a trap” […] “Guns or books, sell crack or rap / Be like kings or be like pawns / They called us coons, now they call us cons.”
