The music industry has been buzzing with new emerging talent and millennials are taking over major positions, knocking down any barriers blocking them to get to their goal. Millennials are growing in different aspects and taking over jobs that used to be simply a dream.
Ivy Rivera epitomizes being a go-getter and shows what being a hustler can do for you.
If you haven’t heard of Ivy Rivera then you must didn’t tune in to Hustle In Brooklyn’s first season! Rivera is a star on BET’s latest reality show, Hustle In Brooklyn, which followed a few millennials in the city of Brooklyn making a name for themselves. Rivera was seen hustling daily with tasks from record label Entertainment One to personal hosting gigs which has her literally working non-stop. The Brooklyn native, Bushwick to be exact, is a real Brooklyn girl with many talents!
Rivera became a well-known name with her radio show, The Ivy Rivera Show (formerly known as Tea Time Radio), interviewing some of our favorite artists including the late Chinx Drugz. This has been a special one for her career as she stated to The Source, she never interviewed someone that passed away. While doing her show of course people began to compare her to Angie Martinez but, who wouldn’t want to be compared to her?! That means she’s doing something right! She has gained attraction globally on her own and it’s paying off.
I was an avid viewer every Tuesday, watching Hustle In Brooklyn and I loved how Rivera carried herself. The cast had a person that could relate to any type of person wanting to be in media and for me it was definitely Ivy Rivera. Her grind had been going constantly since she’s been in the industry and she is capitalizing off of her name, and getting paid off of simply being herself.
I’m excited to see what Ivy has in store for us this year and I know she’s going after whatever she wants!
