According to Mike Tyson, Jamie Foxx will be dusting off his biopic skills to take on the role of playing him in an upcoming biopic.
Hints of Foxx being part of the project came back in January when Foxx did an interview with Screen Rant saying, “it is a go”.
“[Martin Scorsese’s] attached, and it’s—Mike Tyson’s life is one of the most amazing American stories,” said Foxx.
Now, Tyson has confirmed that the award winning actor, “has signed on for it,” according to The Jasmine Brand.
“It’s on, as of right now,” said Tyson. “Filming hasn’t started yet but it’s going to happen. “A lot of people aren’t going to like the things I’ve done in my life.”
The 51-year-old boxer is most likely referring to his downfalls from when he bite off Evander Holyfield’s ear in 1997 to when he was arrested for rape. The film will be taken on by actor and “The Wolf of Wall Street” director, Martin Scorsese. Foxx has already secured himself as a biopic expert after his on-point performance in “Ray”, winning an Oscar for Best Actor.
When I think of a Mike Tyson biopic, the “Django Unchained” actor wasn’t the first person to come to mind, but maybe he can pull it off. It’ll be interesting to see.
