Durkin was put on paid administrative leave back in August after the death of football player Jordan McNair. Mcnair who was just 19, had died in June following a practice in which he collapsed, after the players were running 10 sets of 100 yard sprints.
It was reported he had a body temperature of 106 degrees at a hospital before he died of heatstroke, which he suffered during the practice.
Matt Canada was the interim coach while Durkin was on administrative leave. Yesterday DJ Durkin was reinstated by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.
