R&B singer & songwriter Guordan Banks’ latest track “Hug” couldn’t have came at a more perfect time.
“Hug” is about Banks searching within his faith through the troubling times that we as people are experiencing today. Whether a hug from the Lord or a hug from a loved one, any form of support right now is necessary.
Actor Omari Hardwick (“Power”) makes the track even more powerful with his spoken word piece. The two came up with the idea for the collaboration back at last year’s American Black Film Festival.
The Philly native began to gain recognition when he earned his first number one record on Billboard’s Adult R&B Chart for his song “Keep You In Mind” and he reached this success as an independent artist. The song was also in an episode of Issa Rae’s hit HBO series, “Insecure”.
Banks’ album, “UNPOPULAR”, will be releasing later this year. Check out “Hug” below and have your spirits be lifted.
