By Daniel Flores

Hip hop moguls, Future and Young Scooter have started an AAU basketball team called “FreeBandz Elite” based out of Atlanta Georgia. They currently have two boys teams, 7th grade class of 2024 and 8th grade class of 2023. The 7th grade team already won their first tournament (MLK Tournament) in January and another tournament in February. The team continues to get invited to more tournaments as they get more exposure.

One of Freebandz Elite’s main priorities is to prepare each student athlete and parent with the necessities and knowledge to succeed at the next level. This includes academic support, media and social media coaching, recruiting tips and branding advice for the athletes.

Young Scooter and Future are hands on with their players attending games and team bonding events. FreeBandz partners with Free Wishes Foundation which was founded by Future, alongside his mother Stephanie Jester and sister Tia Willburn-Anderson. Their goal is to help make a difference in the lives of others and deliver a message of hope, perseverance, and resilience to the community.

Watch out for “FreeBandz Elite” the next big AAU team out of Georgia.
