Even though Jemele Hill’s year started off rocky, she ended one chapter and is beginning a new one.
Jemele Hill announced that her boyfriend Ian Wallace proposed to her on a rooftop in Los Angeles. The day started off with a romantic helicopter ride, showing the couple an amazing view of Los Angeles. The former ESPN host posted a stunning picture of the two and captioned the photo:
“I’ve called this my year of transition. I left a job, started a new job, moved to a new city and now … I’m engaged to the love of my life. I’m overjoyed and immensely blessed,” she wrote.
Things haven’t been so bad for Hill after leaving ESPN. Hill is currently writing for The Atlantic and is also the co-founder of Lodge Freeway Media. She also landed an opportunity as the voice of LeBron James’ Shut Up and Dribble Showtime documentary.
Hill has also been named the “2018 NABJ Journalist of the Year.” The National Association of Black Journalists commended her for “using her platform to address national, social and cultural issues, in addition to sports.”
