Former Detroit Piston Horace Jenkins says “I definitely think he deserves it” on Ben Wallace hall of fame and “Chauncey Billups is a basketball savant”

By Daniel Flores

Former Detroit Piston Horace Jenkins joined the Dansportsnews and Friends Podcast and shared about his journey from Divison III basketball to making his NBA debut as a 30 year old rookie.

He also talked about the infamous “Malice at the Palace” Ben Wallace and the hall of fame, Chauncey Billups, and so much more.

During the episode I asked if he thought Ben Wallace deserves to make the hall of fame.

“I definitely think he deserves it” Horace Jenkins told me on the Dansportsnews and Friends Podcast.

“I’ve never seen someone with such quick feet that gets off the ground so fast in my life. I’ve seen him hold his own against some of the greatest offensive post players of that time. He understood how to play defense without fouling, said Jenkins.”

Chauncey Billups aka “Mr.Big Shot” won 2004 NBA finals MVP. I asked Jenkins what it was like playing with Billups.

“I have the utmost respect for Chauncey, he’s so cool calm and collective, he’s a basketball savant.”

The whole episode is one you do not want to miss but, if you want to hear just the NBA talk you can fast forward. (27:20 Pistons) (32:30 Malice at the Palace) (40:05 Chauncey Billups)
