The NCAA final four is set. We are headed for a one hell of an ending to crowning a new NCAA men’s basketball champion. The four teams that will clash later on tonight are the North Carolina Tar Heels, South Carolina Gamecocks, Oregon Ducks, and Washington’s Gonzaga Bulldogs.
South Carolina punched their ticked to the big dance by beating Florida 77-70. This is South Carolina’s first trip to the final four. South Carolina was able to beat second-seeded Duke, third-seeded Baylor and their rival Florida. Before this Cinderella run, the Gamecocks did not win an NCAA tournament game in 44 years. The Gamecocks will look to keep up their winning streak when they take on Gonzaga tomorrow at 6:09 EST on CBS.
The Tar heels look to continue their revenge tour after loosing the national championship last year to Villanova.
The Tar heels beat a very talented Kentucky Wildcats team by knocking down a game winning three point shot by forward Luke Maye after Wildcat’s guard, Malik Monk, hit the go ahead bucket to put the Wildcats in front.
This will be the Tar heels 20th time heading to the big dance. This will be the Oregon Ducks first trip to the tournament since winning the first NCAA tournament in 1939 and also the number three seed with North Carolina and Gonzaga holding the number one seeds and the Gamecocks are the 7th seed.
The Tar heels are a five-point favorite over the Oregon Ducks, while Gonzaga is a six-point favorite over South Carolina. It will be one wild ending on Saturday with the National championship being on Monday April 3.
