Fashion designer and owner of lifestyle brand, Milan Harris, has did more than “get to the bag” in 2018 but, she set the bar high for those chasing their dreams –

Showcasing that you can make your dreams into reality.

Those who grew up with her know her by “Jon,” but the public has grew to learn and love “Milan.” Milan’s journey didn’t begin with fashion – she started off in cosmetology and became the hairdresser that every client wanted to get advice from. From then, she began to start blogging giving love, fashion and lifestyle advice. After starting her blog and seeing her followers jump to 100,000 in three months – Milan began to create new ideas and a new business venture. In 2013, Milan made six sweatshirts and those sweatshirts helped her invest into “Milano Di Rogue,” making it the biggest brand in the tri-State area.

“My brand is bigger than the clothes,” Harris says with unwavering confidence. “My clothes are just the platform. I really just want to reach our people, inspire them. I want them to dream and think bigger than what’s on the surface.

Since 2013, Milan has gained so much attraction from celebrities and people from all over. I see “Milano Di Rouge” when I’m on the train, when I’m watching tv and at every concert – Milano Di Rouge is the brand to rock.

During an interview with Black Enterprise, Milan’s advice to emerging designers is, “My main advice to emerging designers would be to identify the reason behind why you do what you do, because on tough days and times when you may not be making sales, or gaining the notoriety you are seeking, or just having a rough day, you will need to remind yourself of that ‘why.’ Also, to live in the moment of their rise, and take each and every experience as a lesson, and figure out ways to always do something better than the last time. Lastly, to never lose your positive outlook on your success path, because everyone is different. It is a marathon, not a race.”

I’ve seen her grow so much and I’m so proud of her. Blackaphillyated had to give Milan the “Getting to the Bag” award for 2018. Keep going and motivating women all over. You’re showing us that it’s possible to chase your dreams and to not let your surroundings define you.
