Clemson defeats Notre Dame in Cotton Bowl to Advance to the National Championship

The Clemson Tigers defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 30-3 in the Cotton Bowl to advance to the college football National Championship. The Tigers dominated the game as quarterback Trevor Lawerence threw for 327 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running back Travis Etienne contributed with 109 rushing yards including a 62 yard touchdown in the third quarter.

The Fighting Irish struggled to get into Clemson territory all game and only scored on a field goal in the first quarter. Their season is officially over at 12-1.

Clemson will play the winner of the Oklahoma vs Alabama game, in the college football National Championship on January 7th 2019.

The last time Clemson played in the National Championship game was in the 2016-17 season when they won over Alabama.
