As The 2018 NFL Draft quickly approaches on Thursday, here’s my mock draft on which players will go from picks 11 through 20.
11. Miami Dolphins- Baker Mayfield QB, Oklahoma
The Dolphins have been eyeing Mayfield in this draft process as their current starter Tannehill comes off an injury. This is an excellent opportunity for Miami and head coach Adam Gase to draft the Heisman Trophy winner if he falls to 11.
12. New York Giants via Buffalo Bills- Minkah Fitzpatrick DB, Alabama
As the Giants traded the number two pick they could potentially land Fitzpatrick with the Bills pick. Fitzpatrick is considered one of the best defensive prospects in this draft and would be a great asset to the Giants defense.
13. Washington Redskins- Mike McGlinchey T, Notre Dame
The Redskins has its quarterback in the near future with Alex Smith and need help on the offensive line. Look for Washington to take McGlinchey who is considered as one of the best offensive tackles in this draft class.
14. Green Bay Packers- Josh Jackson CB, Iowa
The Packers secondary is an area that needs to be addressed in the draft and has been a big struggle for this team in past seasons. Adding Jackson to this secondary would be a great replacement for Damarious Randall who was traded during the offseason and a boost for the Packers defense.
15. Arizona Cardinals- Lamar Jackson QB, Louisville
During this offseason the Cardinals signed QB Sam Bradford to a one year deal but it’s obvious that he’s not the long-term answer for this football team. Having Jackson sit under Bradford for a year will be very beneficial as the Cardinals look for the next franchise quarterback.
16. Baltimore Ravens- Connor Williams T, Texas
The Ravens can drastically improve their offensive line with the selection of Williams. He is versatile player who can either play at guard or tackle on the offensive line.
17. Los Angeles Chargers- Calvin Ridley WR, Alabama
Even though the Chargers drafted wide receiver Mike Williams from Clemson in the first round last year. The Chargers should draft Calvin Ridley since he’s considered as one of the best wide receivers in this draft class and can add depth to their receiving group.
18. Seattle Seahawks- Da’Ron Payne DT, Alabama
Since the Seahawks traded away one of their best defensive players in Michael Bennett to the Eagles this offseason. Drafting Da’Ron Payne out of Alabama will help restore the talent on the defensive side of the ball for Seattle.
19. Dallas Cowboys- Marcus Davenport DE, UTSA
The Cowboys have been in need of an elite pass rusher in past seasons as they have been building their offense. Marcus Davenport will be able to make a great impact for the Cowboys defense as they try to compete in the very tough NFC.
20. Detroit Lions- Courtland Sutton WR, SMU
After Calvin Johnson retired, Matt Stafford has been in need for an elite wide receiver target. Sutton had a very impressive combine and could be nightmare matchup for opposing teams.
