The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the Orange Bowl (which served as the national semifinal game this year) to advance to the National Championship game. The #1 ranked Crimson Tide got off to a fast start scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter to jump out to a 21-0 lead. They wouldn’t look back as they cruised to a 45-34 win. Oklahoma was not able to overcome the hot start by Alabama as their season ends at 12-2.

Alabama will get a chance to defend their national title, as they play in their fourth straight National Championship game, on Saturday January 7th against the Clemson Tigers.
