76ers assistant Monty Williams and Phoenix Suns agree to 5-year deal

The Phoenix Suns have found their next head coach. Monty Williams and the Phoenix Suns have agreed to a 5-year deal, to make the 76ers assistant coach, Phoenix’s new head coach.

Williams, who was a former player himself, has had coaching stops with the Trail Blazers, Pelicans, Thunder, and 76ers. He will stay with the 76ers till their playoff run ends.

The Lakers previously met with Williams and Ty Lue to potentially fill their head coaching vacancy. It is assumed that the Lakers will make an offer to Lue for their head coaching job in the coming days according Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
