Ladies of Elegance, also known as L.O.E, is a non-greek step organization at Temple University. L.O.E specializes in cultivating art in the form of stepping. The all female organization is known for dominating in competitions such as Step or Die and many more along the east coast.
In October of this year, the Ladies of Elegance were featured live on MTV’s reboot of Total Request Live (TRL) competing against Generation X with the guest host Pitbull. Delivering nothing but fierceness and originality, Ladies of Elegance continue to make their mark.
According to an interview with three members from L.O.E, the girls enjoy the bonds being made over the practices and performances of step. New member Nashea Fable states that what she enjoys most about L.O.E is “ sisterhood without pledging.” She enjoys the atmosphere and the culture of females embracing one another and bonding together.
Returning members Amariris Barnett and Alexis Mason expressed their experience at TRL as” exciting” and “an overall good experience, the ride there was good, backstage was amazing.” Both Mason and Barnett describe the leading thoughts of the performance on TRL as an adrenaline pumping rush. Barnett indicates, “We just know we about to kill it.” As can be seen, L.O.E did deliver as much as they said they would.
